A collision between a van and a lorry on the LZ-40 highway caused significant traffic disruptions in the south of Lanzarote yesterday (Friday). The incident occurred at approximately 2:20pm and left one man injured, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
Following the collision, the emergency services, including Local Police, the Guardia Civil, and an ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel treated the man, who suffered an arm injury. After stabilising him, they took him to Molina Orosa Hospital for further treatment.
In response to the accident, officers from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police managed traffic in the area, closing the road from both the south and Arrecife to prevent further incidents.
At 4.30pm, CECOES reported that the road had been partially cleared and that traffic for Puerto del Carmen had been reopened in both directions.
