Guardia Civil evicts squatter from property in Costa Teguise
The Guardia Civil successfully carried out the eviction of a squatter from a property in Costa Teguise early on Thursday morning (August 15th), following a judicial order recently issued by the courts in Lanzarote.
Two patrol units from the Guardia Civil were dispatched to the scene to oversee the operation and make sure the eviction proceeded without any major incidents.
The person occupying the property complied with the police and the authorities, by packing his belongings into several suitcases and leaving with his dog.
According to the official police press release, the property was owned by foreign nationals who died some time ago. Following their deaths, the squatters moved into the property and have been there ever since, however, the rightful heir, wanting to reclaim the property, pursued legal action, which led to the eviction order.
