Two flights heading from Tenerife North Airport to La Palma were forced to return this morning (Wednesday) after bad weather affected operations on the neighbouring island.
Airport operator AENA confirmed that one of the diverted aircraft belonged to Binter and the other to Canaryfly. Both attempted to reach La Palma but encountered adverse conditions during their approach.
Binter’s NT604 service, scheduled to depart at 8:00am and land at 8:30am, instead returned to Tenerife and landed at 9:00am, with its status officially marked as “Diverted”.
The Canaryfly flight PM412, due to arrive in La Palma at 8:15am, took off slightly ahead of schedule at 7:40am but also had to abandon its approach. It arrived back in Tenerife North at 8:45am, likewise recorded as “Diverted”.
Aena has reported ongoing unfavourable weather conditions at La Palma Airport through its official communication channels and advises passengers to check directly with their airline for the latest updates, as further schedule changes remain possible.
