The emergency services were called out in the early hours of this morning (Monday) at around 5 am after a car overturned on the LZ-2 near the Lanzarote a Caballo roundabout.
When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle lying on its side, wedged between a crash barrier and a concrete wall.
Fortunately, the driver of the car was alone but had already managed to get out. He was conscious, showed no visible injuries, and told emergency teams he did not require medical attention.
Traffic officers from the Guardia Civil also attended the scene, taking control of safety in the area while firefighters worked to remove the vehicle. Crews dismantled part of the crash barrier, righted the car, and cleared it from the road.
The driver remained at the site with a relative, waiting for a tow truck to collect the vehicle.
This is not the only recent road traffic mishap in Lanzarote involving vehicles overturning or endangering other road users. In Teguise earlier this summer, a vehicle overturned on the LZ-402, where the driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to hospital.
Another incident in Costa Teguise saw a car shunted onto its side along Avenida de las Palmeras. The occupant escaped without serious harm.
