Drug den uncovered as Guardia Civil raid residential complex in Corralejo
A covert drug den operating inside a Corralejo residential complex has been dismantled by the Guardia Civil, uncovering crack production, stolen goods, and an imitation pistol allegedly used to intimidate addicts. One woman has been arrested and faces charges for drug trafficking and handling stolen property.
The operation, codenamed Anzuelo, began in late 2025 after months of growing anger from local residents over reports of a flat in Calle Anzuelo being used as a base for small-scale drug dealing. Surveillance teams watched a relentless flow of visitors, many known for petty crime and drug dependency, entering and leaving the property at all hours.
As the investigation deepened, officers confirmed that cocaine base was being trafficked and cooked into crack inside the home, which doubled as a consumption space to shield the dealer and obstruct police intervention. Addicts were also seen arriving with what appeared to be stolen goods from local shops, exchanging them directly for doses in a suspected “drugs-for-stolen-items” trade.
Following weeks of evidence gathering, a court authorised a forced entry and search on 22nd January 2026. Inside, agents found a fully active setup for crack preparation, drug-handling tools, hashish, crack ready for sale, and other substances awaiting analysis.
The flat was also packed with suspected stolen merchandise: more than 30 bottles of branded perfume, a luxury watch, multiple mobile phones and tablets, designer clothing, and jewellery, some still bearing security tags and alarm devices. A realistic imitation pistol was discovered in plain view, believed to have been used to threaten customers and maintain control.
The woman running the operation was detained and brought before the duty court in Puerto del Rosario. She has been released with charges pending, as the investigation into the stolen items and their origins continues.
