Car flips over on Avenida Papagayo in Playa Blanca
A dramatic accident took place this Tuesday morning on Avenida de Papagayo, near the Hotel Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca (Lanzarote), when a Seat León overturned and came to rest upside down in the middle of the road.
According to emergency services (CECOES), the car collided with a parked vehicle, shunting it onto the pavement before flipping over.[CE1]
Fortunately, the driver, who was the only person in the car, managed to exit the vehicle unaided and did not suffer any apparent injuries, meaning no medical assistance was required at the scene.
Local Police officers from Yaiza quickly responded, cordoning off the area and directing traffic while emergency crews cleared debris and repositioned the damaged vehicles.
The road was reopened once the scene was made safe and normal circulation was restored.
