A bus crashed into a house near the Mozaga roundabout in Lanzarote on Saturday, bringing part of the building down and forcing authorities to close a section of the LZ-409 road, which links Mozaga and El Peñón.
Emergency inspections by technicians from Teguise Town Hall and the Lanzarote Cabildo revealed the outer wall of the property was at risk of further collapse, with debris threatening to fall onto the road.
As a result, the right-hand lane of the road was shut down, and barriers were put in place to prevent vehicles from passing through the affected area.
The Cabildo has confirmed that the road will remain partially closed until it is deemed structurally safe. Engineers will continue to monitor the scene, and a full reopening will only go ahead once there’s no further danger to drivers.
