Bahia Principe opens first adults-only luxury hotel in Tenerife
Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has officially opened its first adults-only property in the Canary Islands, the Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife, following a complete transformation of the resort.
The hotel now features 268 rooms, two newly renovated swimming pools, and four restaurants, including two speciality venues, one celebrating traditional Canarian cuisine with local produce, and another offering a classic steakhouse experience.
The redesign places strong emphasis on Tenerife’s natural and cultural identity, incorporating architectural elements inspired by volcanic landscapes, the Atlantic coastline, and the island’s iconic banana plantations. These themes continue throughout the interior décor and shared spaces, creating a sense of place that celebrates the destination.
This launch is part of Bahia Principe’s wider global expansion strategy, strengthened through its partnership with Hyatt to boost international reach and service standards. CEO Julio Pérez described the opening as “another step forward in our commitment to enhancing excellence in service,” underlining the focus on quality tourism.
The inauguration event, attended by island authorities and members of the Piñero family, showcased the new premium concept designed exclusively for adult guests seeking relaxation, personalised service, and a high-quality holiday experience.
The milestone comes as Grupo Piñero’s hotel division marks its 30th anniversary. Encarna Piñero, the Group’s Global CEO, highlighted that this new adults-only concept “advances a responsible and competitive growth strategy,” and aligns with the vision of Soltour, which considers Tenerife a key destination for the future.
The Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife is now ready to welcome guests, offering a new upscale option for those looking to enjoy the island in a relaxed, adults-only setting.
