A sailing boat runs aground in Playa Honda
A sailing boat has run aground on a rocky area off Playa Honda in Lanzarote this afternoon (Tuesday), as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident took place at around 2:30pm this afternoon off the beach of Juan el Curita, when some bathers saw the ship sink keel over while the crew tried to raise the sails, so one of them alerted the emergency services.
Maritime Rescue intercepted the boat and safely rescued the three crew members and a dog who were on board, and the boat will be retrieved when the tide changes.
