VACCINE UPDATE: If you are 60 or over call now for your vaccination

The Ministry of Health is now requesting that anyone in the Canary Islands who is registered with the health service, and was born in 1961 or before, i.e. aged 60 or over, who have not been called or messaged to be vaccinated against Covid-19 call to request an appointment as soon as possible.

Anyone wishing to call should do so as follows, depending which island you are in:
Tenerife: 012 or 922 470 012
Gran Canaria: 012 or 928 301 012
Fuerteventura: 928 423 516
Lanzarote: 928 595 401
La Palma: 922 479 469
El Hierro: 618 797 495
La Gomera: 922 140 255.

The objective of the initiative is to complete the vaccine inoculation process among the target population over 60 years of age as soon as possible, to move on to the next group.

They also announced that this weekend the vaccination of Group 3, which is teachers, police and other occupations vital to society, will resume after stopping due to the AstraZeneca worries. All over 60’s in that group have been done, so now the under 60’s will with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

As of yesterday 703,460 doses have been administered in the Canary Islands, with 233,212 people immunized. This means that there are now 475,161 people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine, which is 25.40% of the target population.
