The latest data from the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands shows that the SCS has now administered 1,952,828 doses of the vaccine against Covid-19, meaning 1,196,850 people have received at least one dose, which is 61.04% of the target population. This target number has increased because the National Vaccination Strategy against Covid-19 now includes anyone over 12 years of age.
Because of this, 215,178 people included in the age group of 12 to 15 years have been added to the statistic, so that now the target population of the Canary Islands increases to 1,960,774 people. Taking as reference the population over 16 years of age, 63.97% had been vaccinated.
Up until yesterday, the immunization of 840,395 people had been achieved as they have received both doses, which represents 42.86% of the target population of the Canary Islands.
Start of group 12 vaccination in the capital islands:
The Ministry also informs that today, Tuesday, people between 20 and 29 years old are being vaccinated in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, that is, those born between 1992 and 2001 inclusively, who constitute group 12 of the National Vaccination strategy.
Therefore, those residents of the Canary Islands in this age group who have not yet requested their appointment to receive their first dose of the vaccine are encouraged to do so through the miCitaPrevia app of the Canary Health Service, or through the same application on the SCS website .

The appointment is made by SMS or by phone call, or you can register online if you don’t want to wait for them to contact you.
