The latest data from the Ministry of Health informs of 109 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands today, the first time over a hundred for over a week, and one more Covid death in Gran Canaria. As we said yesterday, the downward trend has slowed in the last few days, although active cases continue to go down, the number of cases and incidence rates have crept up.
Of the new cases today, 42 were reported in Tenerife, 33 in Gran Canaria, 13 in Lanzarote, 12 in Fuerteventura, 7 in La Palma, 1 in El Hierro, and 1 in La Gomera. Fortunately, there were 280 people discharged so active cases have dropped to 1,668 with 184 Covid patients in wards, 39 in ICU, and 1,445 in home isolation.
Below you can see the number of active cases in various municipalities in all of the islands, but the good news is that Tenerife now dropped below 1,000.
