Covid update: 195 new cases with 158 of them in Level 3 Tenerife

The Ministry of Health have reported of 185 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands today, with 158 of them (81%) in Tenerife, 24 in Gran Canaria, 7 in Lanzarote, 5 in Fuerteventura, and none in the rest of the islands. There has also been one Covid related death of a 65-year-old-man in Gran Canaria, who was already hospitalised from a family outbreak.

Active cases have continued to go up as there has only been 46 people medically discharged, and now reach 2,978 with 208 people in hospital wards, 27 in ICU, and 2,743 in home isolation.

The IA7 for the islands is now 57.08 and the IA14 is 108.64, but Tenerife continues to pull that figure up as the IA14 for the island is 196.21, more than double the next closest which is Fuerteventura with 96.05 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

After starting in Level 3, Tenerife has 12 days until July 7th to firstly slow down the number of new cases, stabilise the data, and then have 5 days of favourable downward trend before a move down a level will even be considered. If not, what will be considered is what extra restrictions can be implemented to make this happen, any suggestions?
