The Canary Islands has surpassed 52,000 people infected by coronavirus today by adding 165 cases in the last 24 hours. Specifically, since the beginning of the pandemic, the islands have now had 52,135 cases. Of these, 3,713 remain active (82 less than yesterday) of which 73 are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and 295 admitted to hospital wards, with 3,345 in home isolation.
The islands have added one more Covid related death in Tenerife that brings the total number of fatalities from the pandemic to 722 and 403 in Tenerife. In addition, there have been 246 medical discharges today.
All this means that the Accumulated Incidence (AI) at 7 days stands at 52.62 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the AI at 14 days is 116.78 cases.
By islands, Tenerife has added 96 new cases today, Gran Canaria registers 38, La Palma has 15, Lanzarote adds 11, El Hierro 4, Fuerteventura just 1, and La Gomera yet again has no new cases.
