The latest data from the Ministry of Health reports of 175 new cases of Covid in the Canary Islands, with 2,157 active cases of which 195 are in hospital wards, 22 are in ICU, and 1,940 are in home isolation. They have also reported of no Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours.
Tenerife continues to be the island in trouble, with over 150 new cases for the second day running, having 151 (86%) of the new infections which has increased the IA7 on the island to 95.74 and 165.19 for the incidence rate of 14 days. To put it in perspective Tenerife has over 8 times as many cases as Gran Canaria today where 18 new cases were detected, with 13 in Fuerteventura, 10 in Lanzarote, 1 in La Gomera, and none in La Palma, or El Hierro.
The Ministry of Health are requesting that anyone aged between 30 and 39 that hasn’t yet got a vaccination appointment, to register online or call as soon as possible to speed up the process.
