The latest data from the Ministry of Health reports of 82 new cases today taking the total number of people that have had the virus to 94,322 since the pandemic began. There have been 596 people medically discharged in the last 24 hours which has helped reduce active cases by over 1,000 in the last 48 hours to 3,470.
Of the new cases today, 34 are in Tenerife, 25 are Gran Canaria, 13 are in Lanzarote, 7 in Fuerteventura, 2 in El Hierro, and 1 in La Palma. They have also confirmed that two people have died from the virus today in Santa Cruz and Las Palmas. One was a 73-year-old man in Tenerife with previous pathologies and the other was a 44-year-old male in Gran Canaria, both were already admitted to hospital.
