Covid update: Downward trend continues with just 68 new cases today

The latest data from the Ministry of Health shows that the downward trend is continuing across the islands this weekend, with 79 new cases yesterday and 68 today. Of the new cases today, 31 are Gran Canaria, 20 are in Fuerteventura, 11 are in Tenerife, 7 are in Lanzarote, and there’s none recorded in any of the other islands.

Active cases are now down to 4,423 with 216 people in hospital wards, 44 in ICU and 4,163 are in home isolation. The incidence rates are also down again to 30.56 over 7 days, and the best news is that the 14-day incidence rate is dropping quickly and is now at 66.09 per 100,000 inhabitants.
