Covid update: Canaries has 203 new cases but does not register any deaths

The Canary Islands has started the week by registering 203 new coronavirus infections today, but the good news is there are no Covid related deaths recorded, and the total stays at 711 since the pandemic began. The accumulated total number of cases is now 50,824 of which 4,451 are still active after 340 people were medically discharged this morning.

Tenerife continues to be the island that registers the most new infections with 123 in the last 24 hours, which is almost double that of Gran Canaria where 68 new cases have been detected. The islands in level 2, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, both registered six new cases each, and none of the level 1 islands (La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro) have any new cases today.

Following the weekend, the cumulative incidence in the Canary Islands over 7 days (IA7) has dropped slightly to 65.90 cases per 100,000 inhabitants,  whereas as the IA14 is still above 140.
