The Canary Islands has registered 330 new cases of coronavirus today and is consolidating the downward trend of the last two weeks by adding 104 fewer cases than last Tuesday. With 483 people discharged the islands now have 15,724 active cases (156 less than yesterday) of which 107 are admitted to Intensive Care, 425 are in the hospital wards (19 more than yesterday), and 15,192 are in home isolation. The number of Covid patients hospitalized in the Canary Islands has fallen 5.9% in the last week.
The Ministry of Health has also confirmed three more Covid related deaths today, two in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife, raising the total number of fatalities to 885. The deceased in Gran Canaria are a 49-year-old woman and an 87-year-old man, the latter associated with a social outbreak, and a 91- year-old woman in Tenerife. All three suffered from previous pathologies and were admitted to hospital.
By islands, Tenerife had the most new cases today with 179 followed by Gran Canaria with 117. There were 18 detected in Fuerteventura, 13 in Lanzarote, 3 in La Palma, and none in either La Gomera or El Hierro.
