Covid update: All islands now have 7-day incidence rate below 20

The latest data from the Ministry of Health reports of 68 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, 30 of which are in Gran Canaria, 23 are in Tenerife, 8 are in Lanzarote, 5 are in Fuerteventura, 1 in La Palma, 1 in La Gomera, and none in El Hierro.

Incidence rates are as low now as they have been during the whole pandemic, and all islands have an IA7 below 20, with La Palma having the lowest of 2.40 per 100,000 inhabitants, and Tenerife having the highest of 19.71.

Active cases in the archipelago have dropped by 115 to 747 today due to 182 medical discharges, and hospitalisations due to Covid which have dropped by 23 to 78. Fuerteventura benefitted the most as they now only have 26 active cases on the islands, and from midnight tonight are lowered to Level 1 restrictions, meaning that all the islands now have a green traffic light and a low level of risk of contagion.

38 NEW COVID OUTBREAKS IN THE LAST WEEK:
The Ministry of Health have reported 38 new outbreaks this week with 197 cases, of which 14 have occurred in Tenerife, 8 in Gran Canaria, 7 in Lanzarote, 5 in Fuerteventura and 4in El Hierro.
13 of these are in socially vulnerable groups, eight are work-related, seven are family gatherings, four from social gatherings, and three in education centres.
In general, all outbreaks have less than 10 associated cases except for five of them that exceed that number.

The outbreaks reported in the family, social and work areas have, in general, between three and six associated cases, except for one work case in Tenerife, which has affected eight people.
The three educational outbreaks, all with family members infected and reported in Primary Education, are one in Tenerife that affects 10 people, one in Lanzarote with three cases, and another in Tenerife with three cases.

EXISTING OUTBREAKS:
10 previous outbreaks are also being followed, some of which have grown in the number of cases. There is a social / family one in Lanzarote that has 36 people affected, a socio-sanitary one with 24 cases in the Bonanza Residence in Tenerife, an educational one with 12 infected people in Fuerteventura, and a work-related one with 10 cases produced in a company in the construction sector in Tenerife.
