Covid update: 31 new cases today, as long as we’re all careful Covid is beaten

The latest data from the Ministry of Health shows the lowest number of daily new cases since the 5th wave began with 31 new infections detected, of which 18 are in Gran Canaria, 9 are in Tenerife, 3 are in Fuerteventura, 1 is in Lanzarote and none are recorded in the other islands. They have also verified one Covid death in La Palma.

Effectively now, with vaccination levels as they are and third booster jabs starting, as long as we are careful to continue respecting anti-Covid regulations the virus is beaten here in the Canary Islands.

Currently, incidence rates for the islands as a whole are now 16.82 over 7 days and 41.59 over 14 days, with less than a thousand cases in the last two weeks for a very long time.

Active cases are still going down with 896  in all of the islands, of which 95 Covid patients are in hospital wars, 26 are in ICU and 775 are in home isolation.
