Covid update: New cases rebound to 194 in the last 24 hours with one death

The latest data from the Ministry of Health reports 194 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands in the last 24 hours, the highest daily total since August 27th, with 90 new cases in Tenerife, 66 in Gran Canaria, 18 in Lanzarote, 17 in Fuerteventura, and 3 in La Gomera. There were no new cases in La Palma or El Hierro.

They have also reported one more Covid related death, of a 52-year-old man in Gran Canaria, who was already hospitalised and part of a social gathering outbreak.

The number of hospital admissions has jumped again, with an increase of 12.5% in the last 24 hours with 133 Covid patients in wards and 20 in ICU. Active cases have also increased again to 1,446 which is almost double over the last two weeks.

Fuerteventura continues to be the island with the highest incidence rates, with an IA7 of 60.97 and an IA14 of 94.38 per 100,000 inhabitants.
