Covid update: 91 new cases and 6 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health of the Government has confirmed of 91 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands today, taking the total accumulated cases to 53,735 with 2,894 active, of which 72 are admitted to ICU, 252 remain hospitalized, and 2,570 are in home isolation.

In the last 24 hours, six Covid related deaths have been reported in the Canary Islands, 4 in Tenerife and 2 in Gran Canaria, meaning that 747 people have lost their lives since the pandemic began.

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days for the Islands continues to drop, and now stands at 39.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and at 14 days is 84.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. To date, a total of 1,074,881 PCR tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 2,863 correspond to the last 24 hours.

By islands, Tenerife has the most new cases today with 61; Gran Canaria has 10 new cases but there are more which are in the validation process and will be added to the statistics in the next few hours. Lanzarote adds 17 new cases; Fuerteventura adds 2, and there were no new infections in the rest of the islands.
