Covid update: Canaries receive 45,100 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine today

According to the Ministry of Health figures this afternoon there have been 212 new cases of coronavirus and three Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours in the Canary Islands. Of the new cases Gran Canaria has the most again with 103, followed by Tenerife with 81, Fuerteventura with 16, Lanzarote 9, and La Palma with 3.

The Canary Islands received a new shipment of 45,100 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines against the coronavirus this morning, which will allow the archipelago to continue with the vaccination schedule as planned over Easter. The delivery of the new doses was made by an Air Force plane, which, within the framework of the Baluarte Mission, took off this morning from the Getafe Air Base.

In total, the Ministry of Health received 1,056,500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday, which have already been distributed among all the autonomous communities across the whole of Spain.
