According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, there have been 131 new cases reported today, of which 83 are in Tenerife, 39 are in Gran Canaria, 6 in Lanzarote, 3 in El Hierro, and none in Fuerteventura, La Palma or La Gomera. Their data also shows that no deaths have been registered today from Covid in the Canary Islands.
The good news once again is that the incidence rates are continuing to drop for the Islands, and today the IA7 is 44.81 and the IA 14 is 103.17. In Tenerife the IA7 is 57.07 and has fallen slightly also, but will this be sufficient for a drop to Level 2 on Tuesday when their data is reviewed again by the Governing Council?
The Ministry of Health reiterates the call for anyone born pre-1948 to call 012 immediately for a vaccination appointment if they haven’t yet had one, and also for those born between 1952 and 1955 who kaven’t yet called or received their first jab.
