The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has updated their weather forecast for the next few days in the Canary Islands, especially with New Year and Kings Day around the corner, the latter being the biggest festive celebration for the Spanish at this time of year.
Friday 30th December:
The Canary Islands will continue to have cloudy skies with sunny spells and a high chance of ‘occasional precipitation’, in the form of local showers without ruling out an occasional storm. The haze will subside and continue to get less intense throughout the day, with southeast winds blowing it to the west of the archipelago.
New Year’s Eve to Monday 2nd January:
More stable weather will continue across the islands on Saturday (31st), whith cloudy intervals, sunny spells, and the last of the haze. New Year’s Day and Monday will still have sun, but it is more likely to rain, especially in the more mountainous islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and La Palma.
