VIDEO: Amazing rescue by Guardia Civil helicopter crew of climbers in Spain

A video of the moment a Guardia Civil helicopter crew made a dramatic rescue in the Mallos de Riglos mountains in the north of Spain, a geological formation consisting of rocks with vertical walls that reach a height of 275 metres popular with climbers, has been released and shows just how amazing these pilots and crews are.

The skilled pilot had to delicately approach a small ledge area where rescuers were attending to the stranded climbers, but it wasn’t possible to land the helicopter so he had to hover as close as possible, a tricky manoeuvre because there was a risk that the aircraft’s rotor blades could hit the vertical walls of the rock formation.

As you can see, it looks like something out of a movie, but this is real. What amazing people who don’t always get the credit they deserve.
