Two people killed in a house fire in Gran Canaria

Two people died yesterday afternoon, Thursday, following a house fire in the Arucas ravine, in Gran Canaria, according to information confirmed by the Canary Islands Emergency Services 112.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) received several emergency calls at around 4.30pm, reporting a fire at a property that was producing a large volume of smoke.
Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze. After carrying out ventilation work inside the property, emergency crews found the bodies of two people inside the house, both of whom were confirmed dead at the scene.
At this stage, the identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed, as their bodies have been taken for autopsy and official identification.
A wide emergency response was deployed, including medical personnel from the Canary Islands Health Service, the Local Police, Civil Protection, and the Guardia Civil, which has taken charge of the investigation and formal procedures.
The cause of the fire has not yet been made public, and enquiries are ongoing.
