The under 60’s can now be vaccinated with the fourth dose against Covid

The Public Health Commission have announced that anyone under the age of 60 can now be vaccinated with the fourth dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, as long as there is no medical contraindication, by requesting an appointment at the local health centre or vaccination point.

In yesterday’s meeting with representatives from all the Ministries of Health across Spain, the Commission experts also discussed other updates to the Vaccination Strategy against Covid.

One of the things they approved, was the recommendation to vaccinate children between six and 59 months old (that is, less than five years old) who present risk conditions, with the so-called paediatric vaccine.

On the other hand, they also reiterated the appeal to the general population to complete their vaccination schedule or to have their first one if they still haven’t had it, as well as the recommendation of the administration of the second booster dose for risk groups.

Finally, they also insisted on the importance of vaccination with booster doses in vulnerable people, such as those over 60 years of age, residents of nursing homes, health personnel, and those under 60 years of age with risk factors and immunosuppression, such as diabetes, asthma, and other respiratory illnesses.
