Tenerife wakes up to snow on Teide after a stormy night

Teide National Park (Tenerife) and Roque de Los Muchachos (La Palma) woke up this Boxing Day morning to the first snowfall of winter, left by the DANA (an Isolated Depression at High Levels) that is affecting the western islands.

This adverse weather was accompanied overnight by abundant electrical storms that left a total of 575 lightning strikes between 2:00am and 8:00am, as well as strong winds, hail, and torrential rains in much of Tenerife and La Palma.

It should be remembered that the Canary Islands Government has activated weather warnings for rain in the western islands, for wind in the entire Archipelago, and for haze in the eastern islands.
