Temperatures up to 32°C in the Canary Islands this Sunday with calima in the east
The Canary Islands are set for another hot day this Sunday, with the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasting clear skies, temperatures reaching 30–32°C, and the presence of calima (Saharan dust haze) in the eastern islands.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will be most affected, but there will also be some haze in Gran Canaria. Northeasterly winds will blow moderately along the coasts, while higher areas and mid-altitudes will experience light winds from the south or southeast.
At sea, conditions will include northeast winds of force 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 6, creating rough seas, while the south and southwest coasts will remain calmer. A northern swell is expected with waves of 1 to 2 metres.

LANZAROTE
Mostly clear with calima likely from the afternoon. Maximums may reach 30–32°C, especially in the south. Winds will be light to moderate from the northeast along the coast, and lighter inland.
General temperature range: 22°C (min), 31°C (max).
FUERTEVENTURA
Clear skies with calima possible later in the day. Temperatures will climb slightly, with peaks of 30–32°C inland. Northeasterly winds along the coast, lighter inland with a southeast tendency.
General temperature range: 22°C (min), 28°C (max).
GRAN CANARIA
Mainly sunny, with some cloud in the north at the start and end of the day. Calima could affect mid-altitudes, and there’s a small chance of isolated showers inland. The south could exceed 32°C, and locally 34°C in higher areas.
General temperature range: 22°C (min), 29°C (max).
TENERIFE
Clear with occasional clouds in the north. Slight chance of afternoon showers inland. Temperatures rising, particularly in southern mid-altitudes, where 30–32°C is possible.
General temperature range: 23°C (min), 30°C (max).
