The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a day of mixed conditions across the Canary Islands today, with cloudy intervals for most areas and more persistent cloud cover in northern zones this morning and again later tonight, where light rain is expected.

Western slopes may also see thicker cloud during the afternoon, bringing a chance of isolated light showers. In contrast, skies will remain mostly clear along the southeastern side of the islands.

Temperatures will remain largely stable across the archipelago, although central highland areas may experience a rise in daytime highs and a drop in overnight lows, with a risk of light frost. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 22°C in Tenerife, while the minimum could fall to 11°C in El Hierro.

Moderate north-easterly winds will prevail, strengthening at times along southeastern and western extremes, with lighter coastal breezes in the southwest.

In Gran Canaria, cloudy conditions are forecast on the northern side, with the possibility of light showers, particularly during the morning in mid-altitude areas. The rest of the island will remain mostly clear.

Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience generally cloudy skies, although brighter spells are likely to open up during the afternoon. Temperatures here will see little change, with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ranging from 17°C to 21°C.

Winds will blow moderately from the north-east, shifting to northerly later in the day, when stronger gusts may develop in southeastern and north-western areas.
