Six injured, one seriously, in crash between a bus and a car in Tenerife

Six people were injured, one of them seriously, following a collision between a car and a TITSA bus on the TF-217 in La Matanza de Acentejo, north Tenerife, this morning (Tuesday), as reported by the Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The accident happened at around 9:45am near kilometre 3 of the road, prompting a major emergency response. After receiving an alert, CECOES dispatched SUC paramedics along with the Guardia Civil, Local Police and Cabildo road maintenance crews to the location given.
Paramedics treated six people at the scene.
The most seriously injured was a 43-year-old man, who suffered a severe head injury. After being stabilised, he was taken by advanced life support ambulance to the Hospital Universitario de Canarias (HUC).
Two women also sustained moderate injuries. A 49-year-old woman with a leg injury was taken to Hospiten Bellevue, while a 52-year-old woman was transferred to Hospital San Juan de Dios for further treatment.
Three other people suffered minor injuries. A 67-year-old woman was taken to Hospiten Bellevue as a precaution, while a 56-year-old man with minor back injuries was transported to Hospital San Juan de Dios. A 55-year-old woman, who also suffered minor back pain, was treated at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
The Guardia Civil and Local Police have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the collision. Meanwhile, road maintenance teams cleared debris from the carriageway before traffic was able to return to normal on the TF-217.
