Residents and visitors across the Canary Islands can expect another pleasant summer day today, Saturday, with low cloud affecting northern areas during the morning while sunnier conditions dominate elsewhere, according to latest forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The familiar pattern of cloudier northern coastlines and brighter southern resorts will continue across much of the archipelago, making for ideal conditions in many of the islands' main tourist areas.
Temperatures are expected to remain stable, with coastal areas across the islands generally enjoying highs in the mid to upper twenties, and light northeasterly winds.
Sea conditions are also expected to be favourable, with slight to moderate swell and generally calm waters along western coastlines.
Island-by-island forecast for Saturday 20th June 2026:
Tenerife
The south and most tourist areas are expected to remain largely sunny, with only occasional cloud during the early hours. Northern parts of Tenerife below 800 to 900 metres will see intervals of cloud during the morning before brighter skies develop later in the day.
Temperatures will remain steady, although slightly warmer conditions are possible in the southern mid-altitude areas.
General temperature range: Low of 20°C and high of 29°C.
Gran Canaria
Cloudy skies will affect northern areas below 700 to 800 metres during the morning, gradually clearing around midday. Elsewhere, conditions will be mostly sunny with some high cloud possible early in the day.
General temperature range: Low of 20°C and high of 27°C.
Lanzarote
The north of the island will begin the day cloudy before becoming brighter during the afternoon. Most other areas will enjoy plenty of sunshine, with some high cloud possible during the morning.
General temperature range: Low of 19°C and high of 28°C.
Fuerteventura
Cloudy intervals are expected early in the day before conditions become mostly sunny by late morning. Temperatures will see little change, although inland areas may become slightly warmer.
General temperature range: Low of 19°C and high of 27°C.
Looking Ahead
Saturday's settled conditions come ahead of forecasts suggesting a significant rise in temperatures across the Canary Islands next week, with some weather models indicating the possibility of temperatures exceeding 35°C in parts of the archipelago by the end of the week.
For now, however, visitors can expect a classic Canary Islands weather pattern: cloudy starts in the north, sunshine in the south, light northeasterly winds and comfortable temperatures across the islands.
