The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is forecasting a mostly cloudy Friday across the Canary Islands, with showers and persistent rain expected on La Palma. Temperatures will see little change, and northeasterly winds will pick up strength along the north-west and south-east slopes, while gentle breezes dominate the south-west coasts of the mountainous islands.

Cloud cover is expected to lessen over Lanzarote and Fuerteventura during the afternoon, while the interiors of the remaining islands will become cloudier through midday, with showers likely, particularly on eastern and north-eastern slopes.

La Palma faces the heaviest rainfall, with a yellow weather alert issued for the second half of the day due to expected accumulations of 60 litres per square metre in 12 hours.

Marine conditions include northeasterly winds of force 3 to 4, increasing to force 5. Seas will range from slight to moderate, with a north or north-west swell of 1–2 metres.

Island forecasts for Friday 21st November 2025:

TENERIFE
Tenerife will experience cloudy intervals throughout the day, with showers most likely on the eastern side of the island during the morning. These could be moderate at times. Later in the afternoon, rainfall cannot be ruled out in mid-altitude areas of the west, although these showers are expected to remain isolated. Temperatures will show little variation from recent days. Stronger northeasterly winds will affect the south-east slopes and the far north-west tip of the island, while the south-western coastal zones will once again enjoy more settled breezy conditions. Visitors planning to explore Anaga or the east coast should be prepared for damp conditions early in the day.
Expected temperatures: Low of 19°C and high of 24°C.

GRAN CANARIA
Gran Canaria will see a more variable day, with cloudy intervals across the island. The northern and eastern slopes, along with higher inland areas, will turn overcast during the morning. Light, scattered, and occasional showers may develop in these regions, particularly across the mid-altitude zones where moisture tends to accumulate. The south coast will remain more sheltered, enjoying longer dry spells and calmer breezes. Temperatures will hold steady across the island. Northeasterly winds will strengthen along the north-west and south-east slopes, creating gusty conditions that may affect driving and outdoor plans, while the south-west coast benefits from gentle breezes.
Expected temperatures: Low of 19°C and high of 23°C.

LANZAROTE
Lanzarote will start the day with cloudy intervals, especially during the morning, but conditions are expected to improve steadily. By this afternoon, much of the island should see clearer skies with long sunny spells, making it one of the more stable islands weather-wise today. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, offering a mild and pleasant day for both beachgoers and visitors exploring inland areas. Winds from the northeast may strengthen at times, particularly in exposed zones, but should ease as the day progresses.
Expected temperatures: Low of 18°C and high of 23°C.

FUERTEVENTURA
Similar to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura will experience morning cloud cover that will gradually give way to brighter conditions by the afternoon. Eastern areas may notice a slight rise in overnight minimum temperatures, keeping early morning conditions warmer than usual. Northeasterly winds will be present throughout the day, occasionally reaching locally strong intervals, especially along open stretches of the east and north coasts. Travellers should expect generally settled conditions later in the day, ideal for outdoor activities.
Expected temperatures: Low of 18°C and high of 23°C.
