The Canary Islands are set for a mix of rain, haze, and strong winds this Saturday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which has issued yellow weather warnings across the archipelago for the weekend.

Aemet forecasts light haze over the eastern islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and a chance of scattered, occasional rainfall on the eastern slopes of the western islands. Cloudy intervals will dominate the northern areas, while temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.

In La Palma, rainfall could reach or exceed 60 litres per square metre in 12 hours across the eastern midlands, prompting heightened attention from local authorities.

Winds will mainly blow from the northeast, with strong intervals likely on northwest and southeast slopes. On the southwest coasts of the mountainous islands, breezes will predominate, while summit areas can expect easterly winds.

Maritime conditions will also be affected, with northeast winds at force 4 to 6 and moderate to heavy seas. A north swell of 1 to 2 metres is expected to build, along with showers around the western islands.

Island-by-island forecast for Saturday 22nd November 2025:

LANZAROTE
Partly cloudy with early low cloud along the north and east, and mid- to high-level clouds later. Light haze is expected. Minimum temperatures will remain steady, with slightly warmer maximums. Moderate northeasterly winds may bring strong local gusts.
Expected temperatures: Low of 17°C and a high of 24°C.

FUERTEVENTURA
Partly cloudy with early low cloud in the east and higher cloud towards evening. Light haze. Little change in minimum temperatures, with slight increases in maximums. Moderate northeasterly winds with occasional strong gusts.
Expected temperatures: Low of 20°C and a high of 24°C.

GRAN CANARIA
North and northeast areas will see mostly cloudy skies with the chance of occasional rain, particularly at mid-altitude levels. Elsewhere, expect partly cloudy conditions with high cloud intervals and possible afternoon haze in the south and east. Maximum temperatures may rise slightly, or even moderately in some mid-altitude and summit zones. Northeasterly winds will be moderate with strong intervals on exposed slopes, and breezes along the southwest coast.
Expected temperatures: Low of 20°C and a high of 23°C.

TENERIFE
Cloudy and occasionally showery in the north and east, especially in the midlands. The south and west will see partly cloudy skies with possible light, scattered showers. Temperatures will show little variation. Northeasterly winds may reach strong intervals on southeast-facing slopes and in the far northwest, with breezes in the west. Summit areas can expect moderate easterly winds with occasional strong gusts later in the day.
Expected temperatures: Low of 19°C and a high of 23°C.
