The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated a yellow weather warning for this weekend due to high temperatures throughout the Archipelago, as a new heat wave is expected in the Canary Islands.
The warning in Gran Canaria has been raised to orange, which is classed as high-risk, with temperatures forecast to exceed 37°C and reach up to 40°C in the middle, east, south, and west of the island.
In general, temperatures will be 35-36°C in Tenerife, and the western islands, and 34°C in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, with the yellow warning starting on Saturday morning and ending on Sunday evening.
