Netflix are looking for supporting cast and crew for a new production in the Canary Islands
The film industry is once again boosting the jobs market in the Canary Islands, as a new international production by Netflix prepares to shoot in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Casting agency Agencia Figu Canaria has launched an open call to recruit a wide range of roles for filming scheduled in April and May. Successful applicants will be offered formal contracts with Social Security registration and paid work.
Wide Range of Roles Available
The production company are looking for a variety of profiles, both on-screen and behind the scenes:
- Supporting actors and extras: Men and women are required, preferably of African origin. Some roles call for experience in hospitality, particularly waiting staff confident carrying trays.
- Real couples: Couples aged between 18 and 40 are needed for a scene involving a kiss.
- Music groups: African music bands with their own instruments are specifically sought for scenes to be filmed in Lanzarote.
Beyond acting roles, the production is also recruiting for transport and logistics. Drivers with a category D licence and a valid CAP certificate are needed, ideally with experience driving minibuses to transport cast and crew.
Filming Dates and Locations
The shoot will take place in two phases:
- Lanzarote: Filming is scheduled between 21st and 28th April, with music group roles exclusive to this island during these dates.
- Fuerteventura: Production will run throughout May, from the 1st to the 31st, focusing on the remaining roles.
This latest project further cements the Canary Islands’ reputation as a leading filming destination, offering direct employment opportunities for residents across multiple sectors, from entertainment to transport and services.
