A man has been arrested in Tenerife following a joint operation by the National Police and the Canary Islands Police in connection with an alleged campaign of harassment, threats and invasion of privacy against a woman living on the island.

The investigation began after the woman reported receiving repeated threatening messages and communications sent through messaging apps and multiple telephone numbers.

According to police, some of the phone lines were linked to prepaid SIM cards registered under false identities, making it more difficult to trace the sender.

As part of the investigation, officers carried out a court-authorised search of the suspect’s home in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. During the operation, they seized several mobile phones, digital storage devices, SIM cards and documents believed to be connected to the case.

Investigators also discovered photographic files relating to the alleged victim stored on various electronic devices. These materials are now being examined as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Police additionally found a small quantity of drugs and a set of precision scales during the search, although the main focus of the investigation remains the alleged harassment and threats.

The suspect was held in police custody before being brought before a judge. Following the court hearing, precautionary measures were imposed, including a restraining order and a ban on contacting the alleged victim.
