The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has forecast a generally cloudy day across the Canary Islands this Monday, with a low chance of light rain in the north of the mountainous islands with slightly lower temperatures. and moderate north-easterly winds.

In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, skies will be mostly cloudy, while in other areas cloud cover will increase through the afternoon, becoming overcast on southern slopes.

Marine conditions are expected to include north-easterly winds of force 3 to 6, with moderate to rough seas and a north-westerly swell of 2–3 metres. Showers are forecast overnight in the coastal waters of La Palma and El Hierro.

LANZAROTE
Lanzarote will see a day of intermittent cloud cover, particularly in the north and east, with sunny spells expected during the afternoon. No rainfall is forecast, and temperatures will remain mild, hovering around 19°C at dawn and reaching up to 25°C during the day. Winds from the north-east will blow moderately, easing later this evening and bringing a refreshing breeze along coastal areas such as Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca.

FUERTEVENTURA
Fuerteventura will experience partly to mostly cloudy skies, with more cloud during the morning and clearer intervals later in the day. Temperatures will stay steady or dip slightly, with highs around 24°C. Winds will be moderate from the north-east, easing towards nightfall, but may feel brisk along open beaches and exposed coasts such as Corralejo and Jandía.

GRAN CANARIA
In Gran Canaria, cloudy skies are expected in the north, with a low chance of light and occasional drizzle, especially across mid-altitude areas such as Teror and Arucas. Conditions will improve through the afternoon, becoming partly cloudy. The south of the island, including Maspalomas and Puerto Rico, will remain mostly sunny.

Temperatures will be largely unchanged, ranging from 20°C in the early morning to 24°C by afternoon. Winds from the north-east will be moderate, occasionally strong on the south-east slopes and the far west, before easing overnight.

TENERIFE
Tenerife will start the day cloudy along the northern and western coasts, with a slight chance of light showers, especially in areas like La Orotava and Los Silos. The north-east is expected to see some clearer breaks, while the south will become cloudier during the afternoon, particularly around Adeje and Los Cristianos. Central peaks, including Mount Teide, will remain clear and sunny.

Temperatures will remain steady or fall slightly, with highs around 24°C in Santa Cruz and cooler conditions inland. The north-easterly winds will be moderate, occasionally strong on the south-eastern and north-western slopes, before easing later in the day.

La Palma and El Hierro
Both islands will see a mix of cloud and sunny spells, turning overcast towards nightfall. Light showers are possible late in the evening, especially along the west and north coasts. Winds will remain moderate from the north-east, with rough seas and occasional gusts along exposed areas.

AEMET reminds residents and visitors that strong waves and changeable skies are typical for this time of year, and recommends staying alert to local weather advisories and avoiding risky coastal areas, especially where high surf is expected.
