Irish fugitive wanted on sexual assault and child porn charges is arrested
The Guardia Civil have arrested a 72-year-old Irish man with the initials DJW in Nerja on the Costa Del Sol, who had an international search and arrest warrant against his name issued by a court in Dublin wanted on alleged charges of sexual assault on minors and possession of child pornography.
According to a press release from the Spanish Police Headquarters, he was located and arrested on October 27th after they became aware of the international order issued by the authorities in Ireland.
The man had been living in different locations in the municipality of Nerja for five years, the Guardia Civil said in a statement, and is currently being held in custody while extradition proceedings are processed to return him to Ireland.
