The Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace, a five-star beachfront hotel in Jandía, has reopened following a major transformation that took 3 months. The hotel, which now offers 437 fully renovated rooms, has been redesigned with interiors inspired by the island’s natural beauty, blending terracotta and green tones reminiscent of Fuerteventura’s flora, fauna, and landscapes such as the sacred Tindaya Mountain, along with the deep blues of the Atlantic Ocean.
According to Iberostar, the aim is to create “a refuge for calm, wellbeing, and connection with Fuerteventura’s natural environment”.
New features and facilities
The hotel boasts four swimming pools, a gym, the brand’s signature Spa Sensations, and a wide range of dining options with three restaurants and three bars. Among the highlights are a new 24-hour Star Café, the Sansofí Lobby Bar with an outdoor terrace, and the beachfront alMar restaurant, serving local dishes with stunning views of Jandía beach. The popular Teppanyaki Tsukiji restaurant has also been expanded with a new menu.
The property now offers a premium stay under Iberostar’s ‘Selection’ category, designed for couples and families seeking a high-end experience with an emphasis on relaxation and reconnection. Guests can also take part in locally inspired activities, including aloe vera workshops and wellness treatments featuring the island’s iconic plant.
A commitment to Fuerteventura and sustainability
Finn Ackermann, Chief Commercial Officer of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are especially proud of this transformation, which reinforces our commitment to the Canary Islands as a leading destination for European travellers. Our goal is to continue offering personalised, high-quality experiences while generating value for our employees, partners, and the local community.”
The reopening will employ more than 300 people and is aligned with Iberostar’s Wave of Change programme, which promotes sustainable and responsible tourism. The hotel now operates with 100% renewable electricity as part of the company’s drive to reach carbon neutrality by 2030.
It also supports responsible sourcing of seafood, works with trusted local suppliers, and has introduced measures for greater energy efficiency. The hotel is trying out a project to turn its organic waste into compost with help from a local plant, alongside its dedicated 3R team (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
