Heat, waves and wind, these are the active warnings in the Islands this weekend

The Canary Islands continue this weekend with several active warnings of different levels due to adverse weather phenomena. These are warnings for heat, strong winds and waves that affect the entire archipelago but will lose intensity during today and tomorrow (Sunday).

These are the active weather warnings from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), island by island:

GRAN CANARIA:
Saturday: from 10:00am until 5:59pm there is an active yellow warning for heat in the east, south, and west of the island, with temperatures of up to 34°C, especially inland.

There is also yellow wind warning until 11:59pm. According to AEMET, there will be maximum gusts of up to 70 km/h that will mainly affect summits, and the northwest and southeast slopes.

Finally, the wave warning will continue to be active in the east, south and west of the island. North or northeast wind is expected from 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) in the west and southeast of the island, occasionally from 62 to 74 km/h (force 8) in the inter-island channels.

On Sunday, only the wave warning will remain in force, which will affect the east, south and west of the island.

TENERIFE

Saturday: There are only two active warnings today in Tenerife, one for wind and the other for waves. The first is in force for the entire day, and affects the western end and the southeastern slope of the island with maximum gusts of 80 km/h.

The warning for waves came into effect at 12:00pm (midday) and lasts until 11:59pm tonight. Wind from the north or northeast of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) is expected in the west and southeast of the island, occasionally 62 to 74 km/h (force 8) in the inter-island channels.

Tomorrow, Sunday, only the wave warning will be maintained until 9:00pm

FUERTEVENTURA:
There are no weather warnings for Fuerteventura this weekend.

LANZAROTE:
There are no weather warnings for Lanzarote this weekend.

L A PALMA:
Saturday: the wind warning is in place until 11:59pm tonight which is affecting El Paso and the northwestern slope of the island, as well as the summits, with gusts of up to 70 km/h.

The yellow warning for coastal phenomena is also in force until 11:59pm, when a north or northeast wind of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) is expected on the west side of the island.

There are no warnings for La Palma tomorrow (Sunday).

La Gomera:
Saturday: Yellow weather warnings for wind and adverse sea conditions are in place today. The one for wind lasts until 11:59pm and mainly affects the summits and the east and west slopes of the island, with gusts up to 80 km/h.

The yellow warning for coastal phenomena lasts from 12:00 (midday) to 11:59pm tonight, when a north or northeast wind of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) is expected only in the west of the island.

There are no active warnings on the island tomorrow, Sunday.

EL HIERRO:
Warnings for wind and waves are active today, Saturday. The first lasts until 11:59pm tonight with gusts of up to 70 km/h.

The yellow warning for coastal phenomena is from 12:00 (midday) to 11:59pm, when a north or northeast wind of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) is expected on the west slope of the island.

There will be no active warnings on the island on Sunday.
