Servitaxi Tenesur SL

The national weather service, AEMET, are forecasting a mostly clear and breezy Friday across the Canary Islands, with moderate north-easterly winds and occasional strong gusts, especially during the first half of the day. Temperatures are expected to remain steady or rise slightly.

Maximum temperatures will reach 22°C in Tenerife and the western islands, and 21°C in Gran Canaria and the eastern islands, with lows of around 16°C in both islands.

Winds at sea will also blow from the north-east with force 4–6 depending on the area, generating moderate to rough seas and a northerly swell of 1–2 metres.

Island-by-island forecast for Friday 20th February 2026:

Lanzarote
Lanzarote will enjoy a predominantly clear day, perfect for outdoor activities, with only some early cloud lingering over northern and eastern areas before clearing. Sunshine will dominate from late morning onwards.
Temperatures hold steady or rise slightly, maintaining pleasant daytime warmth while nights remain mild.
Winds from the north-east will blow at moderate strength throughout the day, which may be noticeable along exposed coastal stretches and higher ground but should not disrupt normal activity.
General temperature range:
15°C minimum and 21°C maximum.

Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura will also see a bright and dry day, with widespread sunshine after some morning cloud in eastern zones. These clouds are expected to clear quickly, giving way to a mostly blue sky for the rest of the day.
Temperatures remain stable or rise very slightly, making for comfortable conditions both inland and along the coast.
Moderate north-easterly winds will be consistent across the island, particularly affecting open beaches and elevated areas. Wind-driven sea conditions may affect small boats but are typical for this time of year.
General temperature range: 15°C minimum and 21°C maximum.

Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria will experience mostly clear skies island-wide. In the northeast, cloudier intervals are expected overnight and into the early morning, especially below 700–800 metres, before bright conditions develop later on.
Temperatures stay similar to recent days but with a slight rise in maximums expected across interior regions, making central valleys and upland towns notably warmer in the afternoon.
North-easterly winds will blow moderately, with stronger intervals on the southeast and northwest slopes. These areas may even see locally very strong gusts during the first half of the day.
Southwest coastal areas will enjoy gentler conditions with light breezes, while the summits will experience light to moderate winds from an easterly direction.
General temperature range: 16°C minimum and 21°C maximum.

Tenerife
Tenerife will remain mostly clear, with excellent visibility across most of the island. Some cloud is likely overnight and into early morning in the northeast below 700–800 metres, but this should lift as the day progresses.
Temperatures show little change overall, though inland areas may notice slightly warmer afternoons and slightly cooler early mornings.
The dominant north-easterly winds will be moderate but may strengthen at times on the southeast slope and far northwest of the island, where some locally very strong gusts are possible before midday.
West coast areas will see lighter breezes, offering calmer conditions for beachgoers.
General temperature range:
16°C minimum and 22°C maximum.
