The Ministry of Health has recorded 1,158 new cases of coronavirus today in the Canary Islands, taking the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 276,403 in the islands, with 16,579 still active. Of these 55 are admitted to ICU and 438 remain hospitalized.
In the last 24 hours, the death of six people between 45 and 93 years old has been reported, four of which were in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife. All had previous pathologies and were already admitted to hospital.
The accumulated incidence rate over 7 days in the Canary Islands now stands at 246.88 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and over 14 days at 524.55 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, Tenerife has added 478 new cases today and has 6,646 active cases; Gran Canaria 470 new cases, and the most actives with 7,792. Lanzarote has added 55 new cases and now only has 341 active, whereas Fuerteventura has 95 new cases and 1,341 still active. La Palma has added 50 new cases today, El Hierro has 6, and La Gomera has 4.
