On the day that masks are no longer mandatory outdoors and the Canarian Government are reviewing alert levels and restrictions, there have been 1,312 new cases of Covid reported in the Canary Islands today, with the death of five more people, all in Gran Canaria.
The SCS has also updated the vaccination figures today, which show that 4,211,745 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have now been administered and that 87.08% of the target population have had their first jab, and 81.79% have been fully vaccinated.
Regarding vaccination of children between 5 and 11 years old, 67,979 have now had their first dose which is almost 50% of the total in that age group. Also 799,666 people have now had their booster jab, and the SCS reminds that anyone over the age of 18 can go without an appointment for their first, second, or third dose at any of the vaccination points.
