The Ministry of Health has reported 1,838 new cases today, a figure that has dropped below two thousand for the first time since Monday, and continues the downward trend that the archipelago is currently in.
Unfortunately, the number of deaths has risen again compared to yesterday, r with 12 deaths today from covid: five in Tenerife and seven in Gran Canaria. In total, the number of deaths in the archipelago is now 1,384 since the start of the pandemic
The accumulated total number of cases in the Canary Islands now amount to 253,797, of which 101,035 are still active, and it is hospital pressure that continues to concern medical experts, as today there are 725 people are hospitalized (90 in ICU and 635 on wards), and even with the highest number of deaths in a month during the whole pandemic (244 so far) hospital admissions continue to rise.
