Car is dragged into the sea whilst trying to get a boat into the water
Getting a boat into the sea has never seemed as complicated as it did on Friday afternoon at the La Aldea dock by the San Nicolás Beach in Gran Canaria.
Several people tried to launch a small boat off a trailer by reversing their vehicle down the dock slope towards the water, when the weight of the boat ended up dragging the car down the slope and into the sea, causing it to sink.
The incident occurred around 12:30pm to the astonished gaze of a large number of onlookers who are in the town because it is in the midst of its festivities.
Fortunately, with the help of a second vehicle, the car was eventually pulled out of the water to safety in a sequence of events that ended up being more of a scare than anything else, much to the relief of everyone involved… although, apparently, the engine was flooded!
