The Canary Islands are expected to start the week with cloudy intervals, particularly across the northern regions of the mountainous islands, according to the latest forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Today, Monday, cloud cover is expected in the north during the morning and evening hours, with broad clear spells emerging through the central part of the day. Elsewhere across the archipelago, skies will remain mostly clear or partly cloudy.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will also experience cloudy conditions, with some cloudy intervals particularly in the north and west during the early morning and late evening.
Temperatures are forecast to remain stable or experience a slight decrease. Winds will be moderate from the north, occasionally becoming strong along the eastern and western slopes of the mountainous islands.
At sea, northerly to north-easterly winds will prevail at force 4 or 5, reaching force 6 locally in the southeast and western areas. Seas will be rough, and northerly swells of between one and two metres are expected. The southwest coasts will see variable winds with choppy or slight swells.
