Covid update: Only 94 new cases and 1 death in the Canary Islands today

The Canary Islands has recorded a total of 94 new cases of Covid in the last 24 hours, which is 21 positives less compared to the previous day, in which 115 infections were recorded. In addition, there was another Covid related death on the island of Gran Canaria, taking the total to 758 people who lost their lives since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of the cases, 44 are in Tenerife, 26 are in Lanzarote, 23 in Gran Canaria, and 1 in La Gomera, with no new cases detected in Fuerteventura, La Palma or El Hierro.

There are always less medical discharges at the weekend, and today only 37 people have been signed off, so active cases have risen slightly to 2,608 with 54 of those in ICU, 229 in Covid wards, and 2,325 in home isolation.

60% of the people hospitalized due to Covid are in hospitals in Tenerife, while in Fuerteventura, La Gomera and El Hierro, there are no Covid patients admitted to hospital, as all are being monitored at home.
